Mesh Barrels
Table Lamps & Chandelier
The ”Mesh Barrel’’ adaptation to the ‘’Brass Barrel’’ collection, experiments and plays with the idea of soft light and transparency. The shade of the lamp is made from a rusted steel mesh which permits a large amount of light to flow through and ignite the woven pattern of the steel.
The Lamp is reduced to its skeleton, shamelessly showing off its structure and forges a rough, industrial atmosphere mixed with an organic persona.
We take a standard woven mesh, cut it into strips, roll it and then weave it together to create our barrel shaped lampshades. After the base form is made we manipulate the mesh to create a variation in the normally uniform dispersal of light. and add a coating that acts as a diffuser but also gives a membrane to the mesh, bringing it to life.
